HONDA CIVIC TYPE R EP3 - Race Car Build
Overview
This Honda Civic Type R EP3 was commissioned as a complete race build for endurance competition. The aim was to create a reliable, well-balanced and competitive car for Club Enduro, Roadsports and Britcar events.
Customer Problem and Project Goals
The driver wanted a car that could handle long race distances with consistent performance. The brief was to improve the balance, handling and drivability while also delivering a strong and reliable powertrain package.

Results and Achievements
The car won at Croft in both Club Enduro and Roadsports and also competed in Britcar Endurance with strong reliability. Handling and stability improved significantly, giving the driver more confidence and pace.
Our Engineering Developments
- Full shell preparation
- Bespoke engine build and custom mountings
- Engine position adjusted to achieve better weight balance
- Revised suspension pick-up points for improved geometry options
- Custom wide-track front end including wishbones and driveshafts
- Installation of a ZF ST82 sequential gearbox
- Weight reduction work carried out across the shell and components
- All fabrication, welding and paintwork completed in-house

Technical Developments
The project involved repositioning the engine to lower the centre of gravity and improve corner entry. A completely new wide-track system was designed for the front of the car with associated wishbones and driveshafts. Suspension pick-up points were modified so that geometry could be optimised for different circuits. The ZF ST82 gearbox allowed faster shifts and more consistency during long races.
MINI R50 - Championship Regulation Rally Build
Overview
This Mini R50 was prepared specifically for the Mini Rally Challenge. The regulations were quite restrictive, so the focus was on maximising performance within the rules while maintaining reliability and safety.
Customer Problem and Project Goals
The client needed a compliant and competitive chassis that would pass scrutineering with no issues and perform well on tarmac stages. The gearbox and differential required a full refresh to handle rally use.
Results and Achievements
The car won its class at the Corbeau Clacton Rally in 2022, a British Rally Championship round. The car also achieved around 53rd overall.
Our Engineering Approach
- Full strip-down and installation of safety equipment
- Interior and bonnet painted in-house
- Engine checked to ensure compliance
- Gearbox stripped and rebuilt
- Fitment of an ATB differential
All preparation work carried out according to the championship rulebook

Technical Developments
Safety systems were fitted to meet rally regulations. The gearbox was rebuilt to improve reliability and the ATB differential provided better traction out of tight corners. All work was completed with the aim of delivering a strong and compliant platform.

NISSAN MICRA K11 (FORMULA 1000) - Junior Rally Car Build
Overview
This Micra K11 was the first competitive build undertaken by the team. It was developed for the Formula 1000 Junior Championship, which has very strict regulations and limits what can be modified.
Customer Problem and Project Goals
The aim was to produce a safe, compliant car for a young competitor. The rules required the engine and gearbox to remain standard, so improvements focused on safety, suspension and overall preparation.
Our Engineering Approach
- Installation of all junior rally safety equipment
- Adjustable coilover suspension fitted
- Lightweight preparation within regulations
- Engine and gearbox retained in standard form as required

Technical Developments
The chassis was prepared to offer predictable handling for a young driver. Adjustable coilovers allowed setup changes between events. All safety equipment was installed to the required standard for the championship.

VAUXHALL CORSA MAXI - Chassis and Drivetrain Redevelopment
Overview
The Corsa Maxi was brought to us after the owner became unhappy with how the car handled and delivered its power. It had already competed at Three Sisters and other single-venue rallies but required refinement.
Customer Problem and Project Goals
The main concerns were unpredictable handling, flat spots in the power curve and a gearbox that did not suit the driver. The aim was to provide a more predictable, stable and confidence-inspiring setup.
Our Engineering Approach
- Full geometry review and correction
- Gearbox replaced with a five speed dogbox
- Rolling road sessions and mapping adjustments
- Additional maintenance and preparation where required
- Trackside support at Three Sisters

Technical Developments
The geometry was adjusted to improve cornering stability and traction. The dogbox provided a ratio set more suitable for rally stages. Mapping changes eliminated flat spots and made the power delivery smoother.
Results and Achievements
The car became significantly more predictable and easier to drive. The improved handling and smoother power curve allowed the driver to perform better in competition and increased confidence on stage.
